It is hard for me to resist a speed scrap. When ever I see that there is one scheduled I quickly check my calendar to see if I can make it. I'm sure going to try and make the one that is being held at Faith Sisters. I've never speed scrapped there, and I'm eager to give it a try. I hope to see you there!

MLS Week 8
I can't believe that it is already week 8 for the My Lifetime Story challenge at Faith Sisters. It has been such a neat experience so far. The challenge of week 8 is "My Childhood home." This was a very fun challenge. I enjoyed reminiscing about the home I grew up in. I liked my layout, I didn't love it, but I liked it. It doesn't look right to me. You know how that is right? You know when you are "feeling it" and you are in love with your layout right? This layout is ok, not my best, but it was still fun.
I didn't grow up in a very fancy place, but it was home sweet home. Can you tell that the decor is when the 70's meets the 80's? The house was built in the late 70's and then my mom's interior tastes changed to county and blue in the 80's. Looking at those old photos brings back a lot of memories. My life now sure is different, but my past has shaped me and helped me become who I am today.
I used some fabulous products in this layout.
The main kit I used was Friendship by Traci Murphy currently available at FPD
I also changed up the papers just a bit by using a few of these really fun overlays by Corina Neilsen
I used Designs By Leah's tape and paper clip from Totally Attached
The round alpha is from Remember Me by Sarah Bennett
The orange stitch is from Always Friends by Amy Melniczenko
I also used MTF Wulan Font and MTF Frozen Solid Font by Miss Tiina
and the 1942 Report font also.
Thanks for taking a trip with me down Memory Lane!

Furture Hybrid-er (lol) and Soulmate
I have been really enjoying the Hybrid Bootcamp over at ScrapMatters. Those ladies are doing a great job! Hybrid projects seemed so "scary," and although I will never produce products like those Hybrid queens on the SM hybrid team, I have to say that hybrid doesn't scare me as much.
Here is my second attempt at Hybrid, a heart shaped card...
I used the super cute "Soulmate" kit by Valarie Ostrom
The first layout I did using this kit was about my son's (he is 2.5) fascination with the ladies lol!
The title of the layout is... "How U Doin'?"
Here is the pic in a larger size so you can see his little face. He really does act like "puppy-love-sick" around cute little girls (especially this little cutie who is a friend of ours)

My Speed Scrap Layout
It has been a long time since I have "attended" a speed scrap. Scrapable was having one for their Re-Grand-Opening, so I joined in.
Here is the page I made
I used Corina Nielsen's "Shabby Biggie Kit" available for a short time (on sale) at Funky Playground Designs.
It was a pretty fun speed scrap, and I'm glad I joined in. However I probably should have been doing some cleaning.
Oh well... Why clean when you can scrap

Some Sad FPD News
Funky Playground Designs is closing up shop. The current owners Traci and Corina are retiring from their shop owner career. We are crossing our fingers that a solid buyer will come along and purchase the Playground so we can continue with the playground games. In honor of a great scrap site I have been scrapping with some of the "older" products in the shop. Almost the entire store is ON SALE right now-- up to 40% Go check it out! Here are some pages I made with some of the great goodies in the shop.

Updating "My Lifetime Story" pages
Here are my pages for the "My Lifetime Story" challenge at Faith Sisters
My Parents
I have a few more pages that I want to do of my different grandparents and great-grandparents. This is of my father's dad and step-mom.
Next week the topic will be about siblings. I'm trying to decide how I want to do that page.
