Support a Newbie Designer!

My new friend Sarah aka MoonIsGone Designs is fairly new to selling digital scrapbooking products.  She has a new kit called "Puffy Garden Fun."  It is a sweet kit with the feel of puffy stickers and cute felt.  I like those the little puffy felt flowers, the tree is super cute too, and isn't that bird just darling?!!

She let me try out her kit and I did a page with it.  It is of my son's little friend who is a little cutie and was the perfect photo for the cute little flowery goodies in the kit.

The kit can be found at Denim & Daisies  and DigiScraps3  so go and give this new, super nice designer some support!     Smiley

Sarah Bennett's new CT Blog will be up soon! There will be a free Daily Download!

The CT at "Designs By Sarah Bennett" are excited about the new CT blog!  To introduce the new CT blog there will be a two week daily download full of fun freebies!

Here is the ad...

I hope you can make it!

What was your latest digi-scrap purchase?

When I was a teenager I liked going to the mall with my friends.  It was so fun to show each other what we got (Of course I spent all my hard earned baby sitting money on worthless stuff back then).  With DSD and Black Friday there were lots of great sales going on.  I want to know what kinds of things you have been purchasing lately!  Dump out your shopping bag and show me the goods- or just tell me what you got in the comments!  I'd love to hear from you whether you see this post now or in a few months from now.

A really cool challenge opportunity at Faith Sisters

I think that Faith Sisters is arranging a really cool challenge that they are starting in January.  I thought some of you might like some info on it.  I know I plan on participating.  I think it is a really neat opportunity.

Here is the info from their site:
As the year is coming to an end Faith Sisters is busy planning for next year.  In 2010 we are going back to the basics of leaving a legacy of faith.  This years challenges at Faith Sisters are all focused on YOU and your lifetime story.  When you join us in this challenge you will be creating a mini-autobiography.  We are counting down the days till January 6th because we are so stinkin' excited about the My Lifetime Story challenges!!!

Wouldn't you love to know what your grandma's favorite toy was as a child, how she felt when she met your grandpa, her favorite scripture and the song that expressed her heart? Your children and grandchildren will have that treasure when you join us in this challenge!

We will start out with your family roots in January and move into your childhood in February.  We will continue throughout the year with your teen and adult years as well.  The last challenge of the year will be a letter to your future generations or anyone who reads your book.

Completing a project like this does require preparation. I have spent many wasted hours when I go to create searching for a photo, scanning or making a duplicate. We are posting in advance so you have the opportunity to prepare and gather photos for this project. Once your photos are gathered you will be ready to create each week the challenges are posted.

*My life collage- an assortment of photos of you ranging from baby, childhood, teen, and adult. That showcase you and the milestones through your life. 6-18 photos

*My Birth Story- your first photos, baby photos, /birth certificate.

*My family tree- names, birth dates & photo of yourself, your parents, your grandparents, your great grandparents.

*4-6 additional photos of your parents and grandparents for a layout about them.

*Photos of your siblings (childhood and adult photos)

*Homes you have lived in/your home town

*Childhood Favorites (toys, memories, vacations, family members, cousins)

*Childhood Friends/Pets

*Churches you attended when you were young, photos of you at religious activities or baptism.

Who else thinks they might like to join this challenge?

Cut it out! And stuff....

Today's post is about: Sarah's cute newly released shape templates, pointing you to some free templates provided by some scrap pals, and sharing some of my layouts.

Sarah just released these really cute shape templates.  How fun are these?!!!!  Just put them on your layout and clip what ever paper you want to them (or use a layer style!).  They come in png's and some of them have psd layers too!!!  You can pick up this whole set for a buck today only, but if you don't get them today they are nicely priced at the regular price too!  SO worth it!

I didn't have a ton of time to play with them, but I just had to use them!  I made a layout about the kitten that just randomly showed up at our house.  I applied a metal layer style to the frame, clipped some blue paper to the scallop edge, and clipped two different papers to the psd layers in the brackets.

I used all kinds of products on the Kitty layout, so click the image for credits.

The layout below is cool because I had my camera handy when my baby started rolling over.

I used the collab between Sarah Bennett and Valorie Brown called In a Boys's world
and Daniela Austen's Messy Stitched Felt Alpha for that layout.

I did my first "Me" layout.  I used the "This is Me"kit by Valarie Ostrom.  You can get this kit free...

... at Scrapable.  Read Scrapable's November 19th blog post to find out how.  Here is a little peek at the cute kit!  It will eventually be going into Valarie's shop, so if you want it FREE you better hurry.

Valarie has the cutest kit that will soon be re-released.  It is called "Life is Good."  I had the perfect picture of my mother-in-law gazing at my baby with so much love and it went perfectly with the adorable kit.

It will be available at Sunshine Studio Scraps and Scrapable later this week

I wanted to point you to some free templates!
My fellow Sarah Bennett CT member Katie has a free template on her blog here
And so does Stacy here

I probably won't be on before Thanksgiving, so I hope you all have a great day.  Take lots of pictures!!

Sharin' some layouts { a free template too }

Hey did you all enjoy DSD activities last weekend?  I hope so!  I sure did!  It was a fun time.  I hope you took advantage of the awesome sales, fun games, and the freebies out there in digi-land.
Here are my DSD layouts.  This one was for Heidi's scrap by numbers game at the Funky Playground.
I used a couple of Christmas kits sold at FPD The first one is by Sarah Jones called "Fabulously Festive," and the second one is called "Funky Joy" by Wendy Page.  The images below are linked if you want to take a closer look.

My second DSD layout was for the template challenge by Amy Melniczenko.  She is the guest designer at FPD this month!  She has some really great templates in the shop.  She had this awesome template for the template challenge, and I snagged it up and made this layout.  It is our baby getting some smooches by his daddy.
I used Miss Tiina's new kit called Sweet Tweets.  I love the blues and the doodle-y frames in the kit.  The preview of the kit is below.  The image is clickable.

Here are some things I have been working on for Funky Playground Designs.

Last year we got a ton of snow!  We don't get over an inch or two ever and we usually only get one or two snow days.  Last year we got over a weeks worth of snow.  I was amazed that we had over a foot of snow in our yard.  The whole city was shut down for days.  Here is a layout of my son sampling an icicle!
This was my first time using something by Daniela Austen, and I loved it.  I liked how the kit was mixed with many different types of elements.  I used Valorie Brown's wired alpha.  It is a really cool alpha, and I love how it looked when I shadowed it.  It looked like real metal.

I also used a template from Amy Melniczenko's Funky Sampler pack

I have also been doing some layouts for Valarie Ostrom Designs.  I loved how this one turned out using Shabby Boy.  A collab with My Creative Pixels Designs.  Here is my "Hard Workin' {little} Man."
The image below is linked so head over to Sunshine Studio Scraps and take a closer look for yourself.  It is a kit packed with all kinds of cuteness!

My boy looked so cute in a Santa hat.  This is him a few years ago.
The kit is Valarie Ostrom's newest release, "Home for Christmas."  She teamed up with MoonIsGone Designs from DigiScrap3 to create this sweet, homey-feeling Christmas kit.

As soon as I saw the kit "Through The Patch" I wanted it, and lucky for me I am a guest on Valarie Ostrom's Creative Team, so she gave me the kit to make this layout.  I had some perfect photos for the kit.
This is my sweet baby just last month wearing his cute pumpkin hat in a field of pumpkins.  The kit is by Valarie Ostrom and Sweet DigiScraps.  I really wanted to put that cute scare crow onto my layout, but it just didn't fit.  I guess I will just have to do another page so I can use him!  I really love the kit!

I just made this layout this morning.

I used Valarie Ostrom's contribution to the designers collab at Sunshine Studio Scraps

Here is Valarie's portion.  I thought it was really cute!

To thank you for looking at my blog post, (and maybe even considering purchasing things from "my designers") I want to give you a free template.  I hope you like it and can use it.  Thank you!! I really enjoy all of you that visit my blog
And of course a comment would be lovely!!Smileys

Have you scrapped Halloween yet?

I have been trying really hard to get things scrapped within a short amount of time after downloading the photos onto my computer. I still have tons of catching up to do with old photos (don't we all), but I don't want to get behind with my current photos either. I want to get Halloween scrapped before too much time passes.

Here are my oh so cute nephews age four and a half and one and a half. The older one is a fire fighter that sweet baby is a dalmatian.

I had the distinct honor and pleasure of being able to use an incredible cute Halloween kit by Valarie Ostrom to make the above layout. It is called Little Spook.
Isn't it cute?!!!

If you have some Halloween photos that you need to get scapped, then you need this kit. Smileys

As you probably know there are so many fun things going on for Digital Scrapbooking Day throughout the digi land community. There will be some freebies right here, so "stay tuned" for details!

Enjoy your day... and the go scrap it! Smileys
